La notte degli Oscar 2020 è andata in scena questa notte a Los Angeles, al Dolby Theatre di Hollywood in California. Dopo le candidature e i pronostici di qualche settimana fa, la notte degli Oscar 2020 è stata ancora protagonista. Parasite ha sorpreso tutti, conquistando ben 4 statuette, tra cui miglior film, miglior regia, miglior sceneggiatura originale e miglior film internazionale. Un vero e proprio dominio, a discapito di Joker, favorito con 11 statuette, ma che alla fine ha visto trionfare soltanto Joaquin Phoneix nella categoria di miglior attore protagonista. Il classe 1974 di Puerto Rico finalmente raggiunge l’ambita statuetta dopo 4 candidature, tra cui quella de “Il Gladiatore” nel ruolo di Commodo.
Incetta di trofei per lui dopo i Golden Globe e i BAFTA. Per Jojo Rabbit invece, film capolavoro del regista neozelandese Taika Waititi, candidato a 5 statuette ma trionfatore solo nella categoria “miglior sceneggiatura non originale”.
Successo come miglior attrice protagonista per un immensa Renée Zellweger, interprete di “Judy”, film biografico su Judy Garland. Grande piazzamento anche per Brad Pitt che vince il premio di miglior attore non protagonista per l’interpretazione nel capolavoro di Quentin Tarantino in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. Per il miglior film d’animazione invece, Toy Story 4: “Il Re Leone” resta invece senza premi.
